Astronomy Day
...for Astronomy day. The local astronomy society had scopes set up, and there were special shows at the Plane_arium.

Elvis sighting?
Before the screech owl presentation, we went outside to get pictures of the telescopes. Who would've thought Elvis would show up? He's right there, behind my thumb.
Screech Owl

Plane_arium
13:30 - Into the Plane_arium. They did a cute show called PLANETARY INVESTIGATORS, which was obviously geared for kids. It was fun though, and apparently the loud kids behind us liked it, because they got really quiet once it started.
Solar Observing
14:00 - Back outside, for some solar observing. There were three different telescopes available, including one with a TV monitor.
Lunch
14:35 - It was about time to meet for lunch, so we hooked up with L's Mom. She's the world's coolest mother-in-law.

15:00 - L. loves to have her picture taken. Awww.
Things!
15:45 - Off to Target, to go buy some THINGS.

16:42 - Leaving Target. Temperature was hot enough to boil a monkey's bum.
Back Home.
17:30 - With things purchased, we returned to air conditioning. My painted ceiling fan project beckoned--today, it would finally hang.

Hockey.
18:00 - Alas, a hockey game on TV beckoned. The Mighty Ducks defeat the Minnesota Wild, 1-0. I can't believe I'm saying this...Go Ducks!!! Just wait 'till they use the Killer-V play!
Steering Wheel
18:30 - Applied pseudo leather-wrap to steering wheel. Not bad for $5.00. The wheel feels more 'meaty', but I'm getting used to it. And I think my car actually goes faster too.
Ceiling Fan
19:00 - With daylight waning, the ceiling fan could no longer be postponed.
Cut the power
19:02 - It was time to cut power to the computer room, so I could safely connect the fan.
Cat distraction
19:05 - But alas, Crystal, our other cat was hungry. I had to feed her.
That Darn Cat
...she was so hungry, she dragged two pairs of my drawstring shorts to her food dish. Awww!
Fan Install
20:00 - Installation of fan was done in very low light with power off. Could not snap any good pictures until I finished. But the fan works, and it looks great! Not bad for $25 (incl. paint)
Crystal
21:30 - Time to give some TLC to Crystal. She loves attention. She squirms though, so it made it really hard to get this picture in focus.
More Things!
22:45 - Pictures from dinner were useless, since it was so dark. Cue up to the parking lot for Wal*Mart, where we went afterwards in search of Mother's Day Things.
Frenzy
...along with about 6000 of our closest friends.
Chaos
23:15 - Wal*Mart was utter chaos. You would think it was Christmas or something.
Frantic
23:20 - The card aisle was especially busy.
Swarm
23:45 - Time to check out. 60 registers, each lined up about 10 deep. You would think there was nothing to do in town on a Friday night.
